The Scripps Research Institute reviews

Great scientists that are willing to help. Both LaJolla and Jupiter are great places to live and have nice campus environments. Equipment is top rate. Collaborations are encouraged and there is a good deal of accademic freedom. From what I have seen, pay at Scripps seems to be higher than at universities.

Here you have rare chance to learn from the best and do the best science, which in many cases is a guideline for big part of scientific community. - Financially, excellent place. A lot of opportunities to participate in different meetings, conferences; in most cases PI budgets allow for sophisticated experiments. - There are many biotech companies around. - Plenty of people from foreign countries is giving you an opportunity to learn and understand different cultures. - Sunny California, nice weather every day and walking distance to the ocean, Also not far from spectacular scenic views, national parks.
