Pros

Casual uniform, free lunch program, challenging and interesting work, great colleges. The company is constantly moving forward, new management is improving work conditions even further

Cons

Pay is less than industry standard, insurance doesn't cover family members. Some managers lack experience and training. Company is willing to spend money on certain sometimes unnecessary things, but will be cheap when it comes to offering competitive salaries.

Pros

The company culture is pretty laid back. No one is micro-managing you, you aren't punished for mistakes, and your coworkers are pretty great. Everyone is willing to help you, as long as you are willing to ask for help.

Cons

I was given Team Lead responsibilities 3 months before my annual review and 6 months before my promotion. I did not receive a base pay increase for the promotion and did not receive backpay for the additional responsibilities. Every other QA member I asked who got the same promotion said they experienced the same thing. When I asked for additional compensation, my boss threatened to take away my job title and questioned how well I was doing my work, essentially threatening to fire me. Another con is outsourcing. We are now exclusively hiring from Albania and Ukraine, people who earn 60% of the pay that US employees do. I love my foreign coworkers, but we had to wait months to fill a role when we had multiple US referrals willing to start that week. The final con is compensation. This role starts at $50k, which is 2/3 the starting rate with other companies for the same position. HR laughed at me when I asked for $70k when I first got hired.
