Great place to grow if you have the drive

Pros

TicketNetwork has a history of hiring bright young people and expecting them to be a part of creating the company's future, which led to years of success and growth. This makes for a fun place to work where people are able to be challenged and push themselves to try new things. Most managers are people who helped create their departments and were hired from the employees rather than recruited externally. People who are motivated to try new things, work long hours, and continually keep learning do well at the company and are regularly recognized with promotions and new responsibility. Recently, the company has been going through a transformation as it matures into an adult corporate citizen from its entrepreneurial youth. This means more experienced management, consistent expectations, and increased accountability. It also has meant some some increases in compensation, incentive plans, and lots of opportunity for advancement. In general this is an exciting time for the company.

Cons

Unfortunately, when you hire young people without much experience and promote from within, you end up with a lot of inexperienced people who have good intentions. So while the walls of TicketNetwork are lined with awesome people, not all are equally motivated. I believe new changes in management and some restructuring will help to bring some accountability to those not really pulling their weight. Right now the company is experiencing "growing pains" as a lot of changes are implemented by management. I believe the changes will ultimately address some of the inconsistencies and wasted efforts on inconsequential work but in the meantime it can be stressful.

Pros

TicketNetwork is a great place to work if you’re entrepreneurial, care about your work, and are willing to stay focused and put in extra effort when required. The workplace is very flexible, especially for employees who perform at a high level. I think we had some serious issues with having the wrong people in certain positions for too long, but this has been taken care of with recent management changes. During my 7 years at TicketNetwork, I’ve had my ups and downs. No work environment is perfect, but it is the right fit for me. I have been trusted with a wide variety of projects; some have succeeded others have not. I’m genuinely grateful for all of the experience I have gotten at TicketNetwork and the freedom and trust that has been given to me. Right now, I am very happy in my role. I enjoy working with my immediate team and co-workers in general. We really care about and support each other and we’re not competitive with each other – at least on my team. I also think our management team is doing a great job with making the hard, but necessary changes.

Cons

I think we can do a better job with setting expectations for performance. I think that some employees get frustrated because they see others advancing, but they are not advancing. A better training program and an HR department that helps employees to grow professionally would be extremely helpful.

Pros

* "work hard, play hard" atmosphere, although the office environment is casual, people still work very hard to meet their obligations to their team and the company * great co-workers, I really like who I work with * flexibility and good work-life balance; my particular department manager(s) ensures that we have flexibility, if we work late or need to rearrange schedules to accommodate a personal errand we have that ability without a lot of hassle and stress * Virtually no "micro-management", although this can be different depending on where you work in the company. In my department we're given the ability to really do our day-to-day jobs without a lot of micro-management, we're held accountable which is the way it should be * free lunches

Cons

* we lost a lot of senior management and with that a lot of knowledge left the company * certain departments have pretty bad morale issues, it hasn't moved into all areas luckily - as long as our department leader sticks around I think we'll be okay but I worry * pay is low to start but if you do a good job you can move up the 'ladder' quickly * insurance coverage for families is very expensive * not great communication between management and employees, that has always been an issue
