Pros

Certain Direct Sales Assistant Managers and trainers are genuinely good leaders and are very willing to mentor, discount was nice and Holidays were filled with food incentives!

Cons

Contradictory and biased approach to retaining talent. Subculture is obviously a factor in job security, i.e. *Kim Desarno & Will Bragger...performance and attendance doesn't apply to Job Security if your not their type of people. Transparent racist and bias behaviors.

Pros

Working for a great brand.

Cons

HR PLEASE READ THIS. The upper management in Parsippany SUCKS. They need to stop treating people like dog crap. They need to be trained to respect the people that are forced to report to them. The management forgets their only job isn't to wait to pick up their bosses phone calls, and start taking an active role in coaching their subordinates. Departments that are forced to work in the same area e.g. Distribution, Hollowware, QA, Repair services should not have to feel as if they are second best to the "owners" of that area. Distribution thinks they are the only people who work for the company and have a very limited mindset in many cases due to the nature of their work. They don't take the time to learn what others do and respect them for what they do, they only see themselves. They all act this way, and they know it and are obvious about it. The company culture is stale at best and not competitive in terms of a positive workplace that promotes growth in any way, or even thinking for that matter - no thinking is the Tiffany way. Flex time should be implemented, in fact every other company located in the same campus offers it to help accommodate the horrible traffic and other issues that we all face in NJ. Men and women in the workplace at Tiffany is out of balance (just look at the online statistics) take a close look at all areas, the women in management will go out of their way not to hire a man... you are going to face a discrimination suit if you don't take a close look at this.

Pros

-Excellent brand name -Employee discounts -Very polite work environment (almost overly polite) -Cash flush (at the moment) so budget limitations are not usually an issue -Employee retention - many people have been there for 20+ years -Beautiful new HQ office in NYC

Cons

-Corporate office run like a military dictatorship - seniority rules, no questions / discussion allowed, often times to the detriment of the company -Not a meritocracy - hard work and ambition is feared, not rewarded -Zero transparency into strategic decisions that affect junior employees -EXTREMELY political work environment -Change and innovation are tedious, if not impossible -Lack of motivation by employees - work is done "on Tiffany time," meaning really slow -Technology is atrocious - nearly impossible to work remotely -Way behind the times in adopting modern workplace practices (e.g., hoteling, collaboration tools, mentor programs, 360 degree reviews) -The NJ offices are impossible to get to on public transport -You have to pay for coffee - really??? Overall, a decent place to work if you are ok at your job and plan to keep your head down and work 9 to 5 for 20+ years. If you are lower than a VP-level, talented, ambitious, and willing to work hard to move up the corporate ladder, this is not the company for you.
