Pros

It's like building your own business from scratch, with someone else footing the bill. All of the expenses of starting your own business are covered by the Company. It's a client building business, and once you establish a clientele, the job becomes very simple. Most people no longer make any cold calls after their first 18 months, unless they opt for leadership and training opportunities. You have the ability to build an organization of people to work for you and the average income per person you hire is $9K per year. Very Nice! It is truly a work place that you can honestly can call home. I will never work anywhere else.

Cons

Like any client building business, it is hard work in the beginning. You have to prospect and make phone calls to get started. The Company provides all the tools and resources to begin your career, but you have to do the work. There isn't any micro managing, so your success depends on your own self discipline. If you need someone to babysit you and tell you to go to work every day, then this job isn't for you.

Pros

Personal and professional development is heavily encouraged. Leadership in my experience was supportive. There is good interaction with high level executives (who are the target prospect). Training and support are fair. There are good sucess stories within the company. The contacts made while working can help in future job opportunities. Not a bad place to start your career if you want to build a resume with a background in direct, commissioned sales.

Cons

Friction and competition exists between sales reps and offices. Leadership at all levels changes every year (sometimes less) causing commisions, bonuses, organizations, etc... to be inconsistent. The previous review mentioning that the majority of the sales reps have been there for 5 plus years is due to the fact that most don't survive the first 2 or 3 years(a canabalistic tactic that fuels many senior reps' business) . In ten years the company (who heavily recruits and sets employee net gain hiring goals annually) has had a net gain of 1 person. That figure does not include the last 2 years in the economic downturn. The pressure to grow and hire new reps sometimes leads to the employment of sales reps with questionable character (which can lower morale, and diminish the companies reputation to clients). There is a bit of a "cult mentality" that can turn off outsiders and limit employees' creativity on how they want to run their business.
