Pros
I absolutely love helping women, most of whom are self-conscious, see their selves in a new, and beautiful way, simply by finding them cute clothes they feel comfortable and happy wearing. I love being able to work in a fashion-forward work place and show off my own fashionista-side. Everyday is a new and exciting day. I used to love coming home and talking about how wonderful my job is.
Cons
They do not have the happy work environment they told me they try to maintain. I feel a lot of anxiety trying to obtain unrealistic goals everyday, week and month. The effort we put into working sales is set up similar to a job with commission, but we don't get any compensation for our efforts. Even the managers have leveled with me how difficult it is for them to obtain their own goals of signing up customers for new credit cards that no one seems to want in this economy. I have been a torrid customer for five years, and have been working for torrid for a few months now. When I reflect back on my previous experiences, I recall having helpful and eager women working there. Now, I see everyone scrounging to make their goals the customers are starting to feel the heat, as we are starting to feel the heat from corporate.
