Pros

TQL is a growing company and there will be promotions within the ranks. There is huge potential to make a lot of money in sales. The base salary while you're learning the business of working with carriers and customers gives you breathing room and a level of calmness that is essential to work effectively and survive in the meantime. The software and equipment is excellent, and the facilities are adequate. By and large, the office environment is very relaxed.

Cons

There's a lot of profanity and dishonesty day to day. There's a lot of tension and unpleasantness. On pretty well a daily basis you'll hear a broker yelling over the phone at a truck driver or dispatcher for a carrier that's running for them. Working as an assistant to a broker, which you will as an LAET (trainee), you will probably be pressured to lie to, curse at or otherwise pressure drivers and dispatchers to do what you want. If you complain about how your broker is treating you or not training you, your manager may ignore your complaints and concerns and may write you off as not being able to do your job, without asking for any kind of explanation from you or seeking to mediate any sort of conflict resolution. If you write a letter explaining the situation clearly, the response you get may be limited to you being told that the General Sales Manager does not have time to read that much, then that you will be moved to another account. If you're moved to another account because of having been dissatisfied with how your broker had been relating to you (disrespectfully or negligently), a stigma will follow you and the next broker you assist will have you under their thumb even more-so, knowing you are somewhat helpless to protest, lest you be seen as more weak and unfit.
