Pros

The best reason to work at TQL is to make money, be a part of an organization who cares about its community, cares about its employees and cares about the customers who we do business with.

Cons

if you are not a hard worker who has to dedicate time to their career, this job is not for you. Make sure you are ready for the time commitment and effort required.

Pros

The office environment is extremely laid back and casual, and can be upbeat and fun at times. The work overall is not all that challenging, and if you are able to revel in small successes, you may have many opportunities to do so. TQL encourages decision making, and there is no micro-managing here. There is little sense of autonomy, so being able to make decisions such as pricing and routing on your own is nice. While my experience at TQL overall was poor, I have no one to blame but myself. I believe I was given an accurate description of the job and what it would take to be successful, and I justified it to myself as something I would enjoy, but it simply wasn't for me.

Cons

98% of your day is spent chained to your desk and phone, and leaving is frowned upon. The broker I worked for however was gone a lot, and often left me unable to simply go to the bathroom for hours. Everyday is a "working lunch" and there is no way you will ever be out of the office before 6pm. There were several instances were I was forced to stay late to help other brokers, after my broker and other senior brokers left. I felt imprisoned on a daily basis. In addition, you will be forced to lie, cheat, and do anything possible to get a truck driver or another broker to do what you want. Not a great environment to be in on a daily basis. Lastly, the trucking industry is far from sexy, and taking on the phone to that type of people daily really takes a toll on you.

Pros

I have been here a year and a half now and it is truly a rewarding place to work. Upper- Management is very visible and that's not something you see wtih larger companies. They always want to make sure their employees are thanked for a job well done. Nice office perks such as a gym, comvenience store, cafeteria, food vendors and various community outreach projects. They are expanding rapidly nationwide and it is cool to see all the locations doing well! Also they stress promoting from within so there are multiple opportunities for growth.

Cons

This is not a place where you can come in and coast your way to success. This is a place where you work very hard. Hard work is rewarded, but is not handed to you in any way. This is not a place for someone looking to get their feet wet in sales just to move on in a year. This is for someone looking to make a commitment to make a career happen.
