Pros
I started as an LAET on the busiest account in the company nearly 19 years ago and have turned the opportunity into a career at TQL. TQL provides the same opportunity for everyone that starts with TQL. You have the opportunity to become successful and make this a career. Everyone starts in the same role, has access to the same training and has the same amount of time to develop. The opportunity to become successful is in front of you from day 1. Unlimited Earning Potential is at your fingertips - this is a great part of the job, but the path to move up in the company is also clearly laid out to you from the get-go. Realistic goal in 3 years is to be earning 6 figures and to be in a position where you can be running your own sales team. The Culture and Environment - you are around like-minded individuals who truly want to see you succeed. It is fast paced, it is competitive, but we are still a team that is striving to do our best as a group and as individuals. We work hard daily but also have fun inside the office with different competitions, outings, events and activities. I found some of my lifelong best friends at TQL when I started. Team Pittsburgh expects each individual to be in a constant state of improvement - always striving to be the best.
Cons
This is an inside sales job that requires cold calling. It is not a job where you will get inbound leads calling you. It is not a customer service job (Customer service is a part of the job, but this is a sales role). It is not marketing. It is not social media. It is not just account management. It is sales. You will be expected to make 50-100 sales calls per day when you enter sales. Many of these will be cold calls. If you do not want to cold call, this is not a good fit. The job is simple, but not easy. You will be expected to come in each day when you are in sales and follow the same process of making sales calls to get business. You will face rejection. You will get told no. You will get hung up on. You will be calling leads that may have been called before. Dealing with rejection/failure and coming back the next day to do it again can be stressful. Work/Life Balance - You will have to make sacrifices to become successful at this job. Successful LAEs come early, stay late, work Saturday and Sundays (when not scheduled) and are putting in time at home before and after work. It is not unheard of for people to be in the office at 6am and in the office at 8pm. It is truly a 24/7/365 role - logistics does not stop. Expectations - It is in our mission statement and winning principles to Exceed Expectations. If you only want to put in the minimum work, you will not be a good fit. The job is not for everyone. It is a sales job that is results driven. Being content or complacent is not acceptable. If you don't want a job that will be a constant challenge and a place where you will be pushed to be the best - TQL is not a good fit. If you want a calm, relaxed work environment that has remote work and a strong work-life balance, TQL is not a good fit. If you expect things to be handed to you, or things to be easy, TQL is not a good fit.
