Pros

Pay for mileage over 30 miles a day Good way to get some experience Good job to have while in school, flexibility.

Cons

Not a ton of hours Constant training even after you are certified Occasionally clients will cancel their session and you will not get paid for that session. Therefore, money isn’t consistent. Haven’t received a raise yet and have been working about a year

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your experience with Total Spectrum. . We're always striving towards excellence and taking a look at how we can continue to improve overall in every element within the company. Here at Total Spectrum, we are dedicated to providing high quality services for our clients and their families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We rely heavily on our training program and pride ourselves in the continuous education opportunities we have available for our employees to better improve the quality of care for all of our clients. This is why we provide the training for all of our therapists to go on to receive their RBT Certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The RBT Credential signifies a higher standard of care to clients and can ensure that therapists are providing the most effective treatment possible. We then have continuous training opportunities for our therapists that is required by the BACB to keep up on their RBT Certification. All of the training that is required of the position is listed in our offer letter document that is provided and signed by all employees here with Total Spectrum. I'm sorry to hear you've had some abrupt changes to your schedule too. A lot of our schedule changes are related to family requests and our families sometimes have changes in their availability that will impact a therapist's schedule. We do work hard to schedule make-up appointments, however, this is not always possible due to our families'/therapists' schedules. We also provide yearly reviews for each of our employees which gives each employee an opportunity to discuss both short and long-term goals with their supervisor.

Pros

The people and the children that I am able to work along side daily are enjoyable and proffer a learning curve for me that adds to my quality of life.

Cons

There is at times a struggle to find enough hours to work during the week to compliment a full-time status.

Pros

There is incredibly high turnover with RBTs, but most staff there are devoted to their clients. The BAs are stretched very then and set up to fail, but they hold tight to their compassion and continue to try.

Cons

Wholly, RBTs are absolutely taken advantage of at these clinics. They are expendable, RBT retention averages 9 months-1 year. As an RBT you might be hired for one clinic and then they will identify that there is a need for you at another clinic and will only give you clients at that clinic; despite the amount of hours or location in which you were hired for. If you don’t comply, they will just not give you another client and “part ways” with you after 30 days. If your BCBA tries to promote you, they are asking multiple times in order for your promotion to go through and it unfortunately falls on the CD. It’s incredibly tough for BAs, I think some CDs within the company are more on top of their clinic needs, but I did not observe this in mine. Purchase orders are a mess and there are no budgets for clients. Very little structure and very, very low expectations. If you like playing the sorority girl, drama games, then you’ll probably make it. If not you, you’re going to be frustrated. The fragile egos of leadership and disorganization, distract everyone from focusing on client outcomes.
