Pros

Had some great co-workers at the time, but this varies from location to location and year to year. Fun, management was stern but fair. There is a 10% discount, but this discount cannot be applied towards video game systems, some electronics, diapers, and baby formula. The discount is good for all other items and is a plus. The co-workers were very close knit, almost a family. Often spent time with them after work. This closeness and openness made work more tolerable and the environment healthier. I believe it also helped with sales by utilizing friendly competition.

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth. One very talented employee had been there nearly a decade without growth, another several decades without growth. There are no health benefits for part-time employees, and management would not hire full-time employees. Many part-time employees were working full-time hours without benefit or extra pay. The pay increase was not very much after nearly 2 years of working and always meeting and exceeding my numbers, making near minimum. Did not adjust hourly wage after minimum wage went up, so I essentially was given a raise to minimum wage 2 weeks before the change. Would not raise upon request.

Pros

Fun place, good co-workers. Good if you have children and need to buy things like diapers and formula.

Cons

Pay isn't that great and no benefits for part time work, at least that they let us know about. Management had very little respect for the associates, the higher up you went the worse it got. The 10% discount wasn't really stretching their pocket. Also they weren't very accommodating to changes in you schedule and even if you asked for time off often wouldn't change it and would tell you it was your job to find a replacement for a day you had requested off previously.

Pros

Typical job in which 'sales associates' work the floor (includes shelving, organizing, assisting customers in one department) aside from front-end support jobs lead to extra pocket money. The work itself is not terribly hard and those willing to partake in the holiday shopping season will certainly welcome the extra hours. Hours & availability are all negotiable, though some instances they will not be able to accommodate. However, for the most part (particularly in Wayne store), they will try to fit it to your schedule. Also, those working part-time will get discounts too. So if you're looking for certain boardgames, console games, books, gifts, etc, what better can it get! Also you can check out the clearance items after the season is over too.

Cons

Too many long hours. Christmas season is very hectic (need to be prepared mentally) and hourly wage is average for this job.
