Pros

This is a great place to go if you are looking to get marching orders and not question them. There is minimal growth potential here. But if you are in a position where you either smile and nod for company's project of the week, then in general you can survive here. This is not a place to make your mark on the world, but it is a place to get affordable housing and hold out in a company that generally does not have many layoffs.

Cons

The main thing you will hear at the SSC is some variation of "that's the way we've always done it." As a company, they are extremely change averse. If you try to push any issue, the culture of conformity will be thrown at you in its entirety. Be prepared for heavy retribution from lower and middle management.

Pros

Country type customers, Bonuses paid to every employee IF you make sales plan.

Cons

Now it's all about how many new credit-card applications have you been able to get this week. Employees used to look out for each other. If you made a mistake, they would fix it and tell you about it the next time you see them, now it's if you see something tell the store manager so he can investigate it and write you up. Some things are immediate FINAL notices, and they NEVER fall off your record. Next strike, you're fired. If the cashiers don't get at least 4 credit card applications per week upper management puts your store on their list of underperforming stores for that week, just based on that matrix alone. Assistant managers are chastised for not getting enough credit applications.

Pros

Nice facility, good pay, benefits. First 4 years at this company were amazing, great experience. Unfortunately under new leadership, things seem to be taking a turn (see Cons).

Cons

Recent change to IT org has displaced several US workers with offshore teams. No alternative job role was offered, just an invitation to apply for job openings internally (and of course externally). My role is being "eliminated" as of 12/31/2022... And the real kicker? I'm being asked to train my lower paid, offshore, foreign contractor replacements or else I lose my annual bonus. I feel certain the typical TSC customer would be absolutely disgusted with the current business practices. Understand, I love working with all cultures, creeds, etc. and get along with my foreign and offshore coworkers wonderfully. Having my position eliminated and replaced with a team of Infosys contractors from the other side of the world, and being made to train them lest I lose benefits is a step too far. I would run from any job that reports to my current boss, a new hire and in my view, complete sociopath. Sad really, this was a great job I was looking forward to sticking with for the remainder of my career in IT. There are still many good managers there who will hopefully realize this is not the right way to go and turn things around.
