Executives don't have a clue !

Pros

80% of customers are decent, 20% of the farmers act like varmints - they are nasty, smelly, and have a sense of entitlement. Tractor's supply of giving the customer whatever they want to make them happy is ridiculous! Tractor Supply is getting scanned daily with customer who buy items, use them to get a job done, and then return them with their receipts and an attitude of ' well, you HAVE to make me happy." Wrong mindset, yet this is what executives set as a standard?

Cons

Walmart mentality when it comes to employees benefits! Not even free water or coffee, pathetic lunch rooms, bonuses are not given out to those who do all the work - only to those store managers and asst managers who sell and don't do much else.

Pros

Balance of work life, great track record of results, benefits are decent, able to go to Nashville every year. Monthly bonuses are nice when you make sales plan. Community involvement and events is a huge win. Culture is on the decline but still a great place to work.

Cons

After achieving store manager status you have little room for advancement unless you move to Nashville. District managers are "yes" men and not great liaisons between the store and support center and act like corporate robots. Unrealistic sales plans for certain stores while other stores get adjustments year after year making bonuses much harder to attain for some. Pricing in areas can be different meaning our customers and employees can pay more than for product than those at a store 20 miles away. Some store managers make more money than seasoned veterans with bigger volume stores simply because of their location. RVP's refuse to see "real life scenarios" being played out in front of them and need to go back to their roots. Payroll cuts in the busiest months because of egregious errors in budgeting sales plans in other months. Company promotes to "do the right thing" but often does not live by its own decree. Store Manager bonus program is outdated and many categories cannot be controlled by the Store Manager. Minimum hire age now 18 eliminating many of our customers who get jobs through FFA
