Pros

The parent company Ingersoll Rand works hard to build a very competitive benefits package offering all kinds of buying programs, health programs, investing and so on. It seems the upper mmgt of IR really does care about employees. The upper mmgt of Trane does not follow that lead.

Cons

The Trane SBUs make changes very frequently, if the numbers are down they do a re-organization or cut jobs very easily not realizing this doesn't affect just one person, but that employees whole family and also the people remaining in the organization.

Pros

If you are good at equipment, service, or energy service sales, you can make a really nice income working here. More to sell than you have time to sell it. Ingersoll Rand made good investments in controls, energy services, and upgrading equipment for reliability and sustainability. Products are heading towards greatness again.

Cons

Deep layoffs in the company since the end of 2013 have made information technology and operations extremely tough areas to work. Work\Life balance isn't not good in these areas. The IT infrastructure and networks are way overloaded if not crumbling. Some enterprise software systems are antiquated and poorly maintained.Traditional company org structure in terms of hierarchical power over orientation. Antiquated HR policies and limited advancement opportunities since laying off layers of leadership over the years. Training and on-boarding mediocre to poor depending on your role.

Cons

You are expected to do well here, which puts a lot of pressure on you. It isnt easy learning sales.
