Pros

I started at TPT 4 years ago, as a newbie Project Coordinator. Applied on Friday, got a call the same day, online test on Monday. interview on Tuesday and was told I got the job on Wednesday! At that time, I came to read some reviews on Glassdoor which scared me quite a bit - the environment was said to be miserable, with long hours, no recognition and "slave life", basically. I almost refused the job and went for something "easier", but that would have been the worst mistake for my career. It was hard work, yes. I was pushed to my limits, and the hours were quite long. But I arrived the year everything changed - management took matters into their own hands and changed the company's policy. I started as a Project Coordinator, was promoted to Project Manager after a year and then asked to do some training, which is something I liked doing. I had a hybrid role PM/trainer, until I asked to do some translation, which is what I studied and wanted to do. Again, my managers listened to me and I was given the chance to do Project Management, training AND translation. My role became what I wanted... Until I had a baby. 10 months of maternity leave, and I was back. I requested flexible hours and to work only 4 days a week, at different times and from different locations. Both management and HR listened to me and gave me what I wanted, without flinching. I have now moved department, and I am a full-time in-house translator, what I wanted to do all my life. I have given everything to TPT, but they have given me back an amazing career, where I was listened and I could achieve my dream job. I have always been listened to, and valued as an employee. And this is without mentioning the yearly promotions, the high salary compared to any other translation company I know of, the pension scheme, the maternity policy, the amazing team spirit, the numerous activities and drinks we do, etc. Do not listen to rumors. Come and see for yourself.

Cons

As a Project Manager, you can be requested to work long (unpaid) hours sometimes. Some projects might be quite stressful. You need to be good at handling pressure. As a linguist, literally no cons. Dream job.
