Pros

Transunion is undergoing major changes, for the better. When I started 3 years ago, it was the typical big company culture with a lot of life-timers, boring environment, no fun, waterfall process, COBOL, and no innovation. The new management team (ie Jim Peck) is changing that. We are now much more agile and nimble (but still a lot of room for improvement), Big Data, new vibrant office environment, and lots of new eager employees. Culture is becoming very open, and honest feedback expected. We are moving from IBM to Google (figuratively speaking). Lots of changes. If you are thinking about joining TU, make sure to talk to someone who has been here lately and witnessed the change.

Cons

TU is an aircraft carrier, not a swift boat. Changing course (culture, beliefs, technology) takes time, but there are still many pockets of "old TU" resisting the change. Not everyone is on board with new direction and energy.

Pros

Great market to be in - leader in the business. Company willing to invest in new business and there are opportunities to learn if you're part of the Good Ole Boys Network.

Cons

Leadership needs to be overturned at a faster pace. The new does not mix with the old resulting in mass confusion when executing against objectives. HR is not an advocate for anyone but themselves; and further cannot be trusted.

Pros

The people (those that are still left after the layoffs) are excellent. Very skilled, hard working. They keep this place running as well as it can with a workforce that has been whittled down to be leaner than lean. Also, the benefits are very good.

Cons

Upper management and executives are disjoint. They have outsourced many of the skilled positions to the point that English is almost the 2nd language. If you are not in the club, tough luck. It is a finger pointing, fear driven environment that is getting worse due to the diluting of the talent base.
