Pros

As long as you work in Chicago, Transunion has a great company culture, amazing benefits, good pay. They are innovative and the business is expanding and growing. Upper management is honest and in a town hall the CEO (Jim Peck) admitted publicly he had made some mistakes, and I really respect that. Mohit Kapoor (the CTO) responded to my original review, and I also really respect that, even if his response prompted me to rewrite my review and lower my rating. Importantly, if you have experience in the financial services industry and understand that for every 5 minutes of actual work you will need to do 3 hours of virtual paperwork and attend 6 hours of meetings, this company is for you.

Cons

Right now is a really horrible time to work in some departments. Avoid any "technology" based job at this company, they reek of "burn and churn." Management loves knee-jerk reactions. Transunion loves to tout their "work-life" balance, but in my year working there I burned more nights, weekends, and 65+ hour weeks than the previous four years combined.

While I'm pleased to see the pros you've listed, I'm sorry to hear your concerns. I set high standards for my team and encourage an open, innovative culture. I'm disappointed this wasn't entirely your experience. Candid feedback is an important part of our evolution. I appreciate you taking the time to speak up about your concerns and welcome you to reach out to me if you would like to discuss further. - Mohit Kapoor, CTO
