Pros

1. Amazing benefits 2. You get all federal holidays off

Cons

1. Salary increases are rare. They are usually across the board for everyone. The best way to get one is to transfer within the county 2. Office politics. It varies depending which department you work in

Pros

Good benefits (vacation, paid time off, healthcare, etc.); relatively progressive in terms of juvenile justice; most positions are well paid relative to other counties (except for treatment staff)

Cons

Promotions are rarely merit based, but rather based on "who you know"; no merit-based raises; treatment staff do not make a competitive salary

Pros

Good work schedule, Good people to be around, Good support from supervisors and team collaboration.

Cons

The county is a great place to go for consistency and benefits. Upward mobility is somewhat limited but overall not too much to complain about
