Pros

People, benefits, job security. I enjoyed my time working with the Travis County Juvenile Court. And even in the middle of the recession, there was never a concern about getting laid off.

Cons

The pay. The extremely small raises did not keep up with inflation. Also, absolutely nowhere to advance to without a degree.
