Pros

Colleagues were sharp, motivated, and had good personalities. Some were quirky in the best, most authentic way. Many of the marketing employees clearly have shining futures ahead of them. The company is fluid in the sense that they allow employees to change positions and/or teams within the company when appropriate, which certainly allows solid opportunities for individual career growth. Inclusive environment. Decent pay and benefits. Overall established, global leader in cybersecurity. High tenure rate - people often stay here 4+ years.

Cons

Back-to-back meetings to the point where there are maybe 1-2 hours per day not being on a call. Employees visibly exhausted from this and made frequent comments about how they wished it were different. Video was typically required, depending on your manager / team. I wouldn't say this is the best company for a person who is more introverted and/or shy. Tons of calls, highly collaborative, frequent presentations and group activities. Compared to other jobs, it didn't feel "challenging" per se, but rather unnecessarily draining and stressful. If you're extroverted, you will thrive - if not, you're in for a bumpy ride. The culture honestly felt more like a lifestyle than a job. In 2022, more people are looking to establish true work / life balance, prioritize mental health, and have clearly defined personal and work lives.

Reduction in Quality Standards

Pros

Good benefits. If you like beer it's an open keg.

Cons

Lack of a culture. Shortly after Trend Micro bought the TippingPoint division from HP quality and standards have been gradually declining. Management continues to make bad technical decisions like firing all of the manual QA testers and using poorly designed internal tools for testing that the QA department needs to justify the expense in creating in the first place. Silly notion that only DEV owns quality while no one else has any responsibility on the quality of the product.

TrendMicro, a joke of a work place.

Pros

I can't think of a single positive thing about working here. You might find some cool people to hang out with, but the vast majority of people that work here are full of themselves or they've had their soul sucked out.

Cons

Lol, where to begin. If you think they will compensate well, no they won't. TrendMicro is like the sandman they sell you hopes and dreams but never deliver on any of them. If you started working there recently, be warned, get out while you still can. You will have no room to move up fast unless you know how to suck up like a champ and even then it's no guarantee. I liken it to being in prison, if don't form alliances fast, well let's just you will be dropping the soap a lot. It all just boils down to politics there is lots of it.
