Pros

The work is hard, but that means most of the people are hard-working. There's a lot to like about the bonuses, benefits, etc. Things are trending positively and the company is growing fast, extremely profitable and passing a bit of that gain onto the employees. I'm very satisfied with my manager, and their manager; I believe there's a lot of people throughout the company that have excellent visions for the future and plans to get there.

Cons

Sometimes I feel like the success of the company is not passed onto the workforce -- that the base workers are just perceived as a monolith, and any improvements in the company are seen as coming from the upper management. There's an often repeated sentiment that a single yearly bonus of an executive is enough to give the entire workforce an extra 4k at the end of the year -- inaccurate or not, that's the feeling many people have. We know that it's a combination of production innovating, adapting and perfecting, and corporate innovating in the sales, distribution, and marketing sectors. However, I find that the cultural and geographical isolation of the plants from the offices means there's a greater number of challenges facing the effective growth of cross-functional teams and relationships. Company-wide transparency is improving but still pretty poor.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, but perhaps you worked for a different company? Trex doesn’t have a San Diego location. If you’d like to drop us an email at humanresources@trex.com, we can help you verify that.

Management wants to see individuals grow professionally. Great company culture (team mindset with a positive attitude). Great pay/benefits/bonus.

Communication was sometimes an issue between departments, but that was starting to improve.
