Cheap Company, No Longer Family Oriented

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Technology is on par with competitors, adequate home office support but only when requested

Cons

The last two years the company’s morale went down the drain. used to be a family oriented company but all they care about now is the bottom line. It’s not family oriented like it used to be 5 years ago. It is cut throat. You will beg for every dollar you want to spend on your team or for salary increases. Company pushes their own agenda without consulting with field experts. Agenda is pushed forward and if you are not onboard then you are pushed out. Sales comp is a joke compared to competitors. Company has gone rogue. Where are the people mangers? Do they advocate for the people? Your employees have no confidence in senior management. Stop demanding more from your employees while not paying them enough, and start doing more for them. Employees are over worked but should act thankful for the job they have. allow people to take vacation without interruption. By the way, you get 3 weeks of vacation to start but have to work 10 years to get the 4 week. That’s ridiculous! With recent org changes, no work life balance. Workload increased and pay stayed the same.

Terrible Envirornment - One VP controls all decisions

Pros

Employee benefits are good - Good health insurance (scaled contributions to punish highly paid employees, but not awful) - 3 weeks paid vacation off the bat (additional time available after 10 years) -401K match - Depending on the department VP, there can be decent work/life balance

Cons

The culture is terrible. All employees from any department remotely to do with sales are terrified of 1 VP, who considers "gas-lighting" divisions so they don't have a choice but to comply to all her wants a positive way to operate. She blindly supports her team because she won't admin she made a bad decision, while controlling the teams of other VP's to a suffocating point.

Pros

Wonderful coworkers. They are inclusive and encouraging toward new hires. They really help you grow personally and professionally. Everyone is in the same boat together. TriPointe is an excellent place to get your foot in the door in the New Home Industry.

Cons

Sales, Sales, Sales. The customer is nothing but a number to the company and once they buy they will get pretty much nothing from Tri Pointe. Management will work you like a slave if you let them. They threaten to fire anyone and everyone that doesn't provide them with impossible numbers, and when you don't provide...nothing happens. Its all empty threats.
