Pros

Lunch & Learn every Thursdays. Downtown location

Cons

9Am-6PM Very few senior engineers. Many co-ops. TribalScale does not have any IoT or VR projects. I was told they are working on emerging platforms but everything is mobile and web. Pay is not competitive. Minimal vacation allowance

Thank you for the feedback. We'd like to assure you that the happiness and success of our teammates is of utmost importance to us. TribalScale prides itself on its lively, engaging, and diverse culture. We are sorry to hear your experience with us didn’t match our intention. In reference to vacation, we feel that 3 weeks of paid vacation (2 throughout the year, taken at your discretion, and 1 week between Christmas and New Year) is competitive for starting vacation. Please also note we allow employees to take additional time off unpaid, should they need it. TribalScale values its employees and invests in their skills and comfort at the office. We purchase tickets to industry networking events and conferences that employees may find interesting. Additionally, the benefits of a stocked pantry (with fresh fruits, snacks, drinks), free daily hot breakfast, comprehensive health and dental coverage, free Akira family subscription, free Netflix subscription, weekly Lunch & Learns, and a discounted GoodLife membership, allow our employees to stay happy and healthy. Although our teams do work on a myriad of mobile and web projects, we are adopting more and more Voice User Interfaces (Alexa and Google Home), as well as tvOS, and VR/AR projects. We will see even more of these surfacing in 2017. We support our employees in feeling empowered to bring any issues forward as they arise, so we can continually learn, and improve our Tribe's environment to maintain a positive workspace. Please feel free to reach out to me directly should you have any further concerns. Thank you again for your feedback. Sheetal Jaitly, CEO

Pros

Incredible people to work with. Smart people, nice people and great benefits ! Good pay in my opinion, exposure to big brands.

Cons

Please read this carefully because there is no lie in what I’m about to share with you. The founders are not experienced to run a company, (if you want to fact check me, look up the CEO, and CIO on LinkedIn and you tell me if their background aligns with those titles. CEO was a sales rep, CIO in VC) they are 100% in my opinion in this business for the vanity of a tech company and to become very wealthy by means I can’t go into here—they don’t know how to run a company and from the looks of it they interfere with the leadership they put in place to lead (President, COO etc). This is a shame because the people that work here rely on the decisions this company makes for their livelihood. If you work here, do not expect a tech startup vibe. They are extremely strict on hours as if you work for the county, or bank. The employees that do work here are leaving in droves (again, leverage LinkedIn to see how many people have TribalScale as a previous employer in just the last 12 months, and remember this is a 3 year old startup). About 1 year ago I saw layoffs. About 1 month ago I saw them again, there was a massive layoff of about 40 people. (Do the math. 200 people, minus 15 people in leadership...40 is a lot) you can say layoffs are normal at startups all you want but the way they handled it was cruel. People are resigning every week. Why you ask? Because no one trusts or likes leadership. There was an internal survey conducted, high marks to direct managers and peers, poor scores to senior leadership and founders, 1/10 rating on would you recommend TribalScale. (With that being said from the inside, you HAVE to doubt the rating on Glassdoor, it HAS to be marketing) Last Con isn’t really a con- Lori is a stunning leader. She’s in fact the only leader there, but she’s only one person. Majority of the clients are old relationships not net new which makes the tantamount of favors which WILL dry up. Just my .2 cents.

Thank you for you feedback. Do know that our leadership team comes with extensive backgrounds in their respective fields. They have created a company from just a handful of employees and with a big vision to the great company that TribalScale is today. We listened to our employees through regular company feedback surveys and 1:1s and flexible time was one of the biggest concerns that were raised. We recently cut the hours down, and made them flex-time for our employee to truly create that work-life balance. We are continuously working to provide our employees and our clients with a better experience, however with change comes pain and we are doing our best to smooth out those bumps.

Pros

You learn a lot quickly about different platforms and industries as you change projects frequently ; There are some great people to work with on your team and on the client side (not including leadership)

Cons

Incompetent leadership. Hired one president that was the face of the company and a media personality which wasn’t what the company needed, now another more promising president that again is moving too slowly to make a real difference that will change something. The director level roles including VPs, are filled with people that don’t have the experience or are competent. Look into their LinkedIn to review their resumes and you will understand (there is one exception, the VP Finance) but most of the directors you wonder what they do? It’s a small company, if they are doing something that contributes positively, you would definitely be able to see the results of their work. They are mostly hired or promoted because they stroke the right egos and are friends with the right people. Unfortunately this does affect the people reporting into them. Gossip. It’s grose how much unprofessional behaviour exists. When something is going around instead of hearing all sides leadership makes decisions on the basis of one persons “story”. Underpaying compared to other STARTUPS! It’s not a startup, revenue was quite high for 150 people company. Where is that money going when operating cost is only people! Pay inequality. They said they will reveal pay bands in Jan 2018 and it’s been more than a year and they are still not revealed. Sheets (CEO) yells at every townhall when someone even tries to ask this question. So ungrateful towards their individual contributors who are literally carrying the company on their backs. Also, what are the CPO and CTOs current contribution to the company? They use to be helpful like a year ago at least and now what do they do? There are so many things to be fixed, our venture side seems redundant but we are still investing in it. Has no one been auditing us to flag the inconsistencies?

Thank you for your feedback. Our leadership team is made of highly qualified individuals, with extensive backgrounds in their respectives fields. Each one has been chosen and put into their positions based on merit, which is one of the three core values at TribalScale. As a company, we value all of our employees hard efforts, and we do our best to reward those efforts in many ways; most importantly through frequent salary/career path reviews. We recently conducted a market scan to ensure our pay is on par with market.
