Pros
It's a startup. There's a ton of new things to learn and problems to solve and you get exposed to a very wide variety of engineering problems and technology you don't usually get at bigger companies. This ultimately leads to more rewarding work and having a bigger impact on the product as a whole. Every engineer, from the most junior to the most senior, can change the course of a feature with a good idea. There's a focus on rapid iteration and rapid development, a sort of 'get it done' culture. Even though it's a startup, Trovata has solid financial backing in the form of one of the largest multinational banks, JP Morgan Chase as well as other VC investors.
Cons
It's a startup. The workload varies but being a startup there's always more to do and more to build and it's easy to lose a work-life balance unless you're careful. Working at a startup sometimes you have to make tradeoffs and instead of building something perfect you have to build something fast, even if that fast thing is going to be replaced or may require additional work down the road.
