Pros

Decent benefits, eight week lay off in the winter for those who like the down time, solo work that allows you to have most of the day to yourself, meeting interesting people, fair vacation plan

Cons

Horrible management that seems to be hired more on who is friends with who and not how competent they are to lead, and awful regional staff that manages from behind a desk and not the field. Technicians and sales people are treated like peons and slaves. Complaints are ignored, thinking outside the box is frowned upon because 'it's not the Trugreen way'. Problems go unfixed for weeks, months, sometimes even years. Overtime pay for technicians is a joke. Goals are ridiculously unachievable unless a person enjoys working 12 to 14 hour days six days a week. Spray techs are often pushed to make unethical choices regarding spray treatments to customer's properties so the daily production goal can be hit. Sales people are pushed to sell, sell, sell regardless of proper expectations or honesty. There's little room for advancement in the company, unless you're willing to compromise your integrity.

Pros

Good Benefits. Unless you're favored, you won't make much money though. Of course, some of the people that work there are the best things about this company.

Cons

Horrible hours. Calling non-stop 12-9 everyday, plus mandatory Saturdays most of the year. Production workers are abused to hit a near impossible number all while maintaining a specific retention rate in their area. No merit raises in 2009, which is understandable in today's economy. We upsell our customer base so much that by the end of the season they're ready to cancel service. Our prices are bloated because all of the overhead involved, ie. CEO bonuses, while our competitors do better work (because they're not being beat up for a number) for a better price. It's hard to sell something you don't believe in.
