Pros

This is an amazing place to showcase your legal skills, the work environment is highly supportive and collaborative. The more you work, the better incentives that you receive. What truly sets Tully Rinckey apart is the culture of the firm. My colleagues are not just coworkers but they are friends. There is a real sense of camaraderie and willingness to help each other out. Managers and Managing Partners have a sense of loyalty and duty to work closely with employees to map goals and set targets that help define what success looks like long term. We do amazing work for our clients, you are surrounded by Attorneys who have a level of selflessness that bring honor and integrity to the practice and there is no other firm out there that is like TR!

Cons

With over 11 offices and 170 employees, it takes some time to learn how to navigate the proper channels. Once you develop relationships with the right employees and understand which managers oversee the various departments, it becomes easier to navigate.

Pros

the people you work with are fantastic and I made really great connections while there. you get exposed to different practice areas which is cool, but becomes out of necessity to hit billing targets. exposure to media if you want it.

Cons

constantly having to beg for work to hit billing targets and if you don't get the work, you're blamed for not working enough. there is no work life balance, as you're expected to hit the billing targets every day, which often means staying super late to get work done, even if you don't have any to do. the firm doesn't care about your wins or losses, they just care about how much money you make them. all of the managers, including the CEO, have alluded to engaging in unethical billing practices. attorneys are forced to find work on cases to do just so that you can bill. its a toxic work culture and mental health is not a priority. the founding partner says inappropriate things during team meetings and makes everyone uncomfortable. the pay is horrible, especially for the amount of work you're expected to do. support staff are seriously overworked and overlooked. daily metrics tracking your hours. expect to have endless conversations with non-attorneys about your billing and why you aren't hitting targets, even if you're just slightly below. overall seriously do not recommend.
