Ask for a raise and management tells you that they are pushing for it, that trying their best and years later they give you the same answer... IF you get a raise, its a slap in the face. The insurance is expensive (i pay 100 a week, give or take... and that is with the “non-smoker discount”). They don’t give any type of bonus, ever. Your Christmas “bonus” is a certificate for a free turkey... and in my 5 years there they provided lunch twice. So thats their sad attempt of appreciation... Management is a joke. Females have no chance of progressing/advancement. I am overworked and underpaid (I am in a company position as a nested contractor, which may explain the bad pay...). Black Friday and Memorial day are not paid holidays. Zero incentives. Getting someone to answer simple questions is an act of congress. I have a black female co-worker who is the ONLY female foreman at the site and is also the ONLY foreman who doesn’t receive foreman pay. I don’t know how they expect a single mom to survive of of what they pay me.. I could seriously go on and on and no, im not just someone who nags and stands around with my hand out. I am a white female who has had a job since the age of 14, and I’ve also finished college. I am barely able to contribute to my family costs with what I am paid. I know this post is scatterbrained but I think its because I am so angry.
