Pros

Learning basic SQL, and other technical skills/language. Good colleagues for the most part.

Cons

Every Support team is insanely understaffed. Training is a pointless 2 month period - 1% of what is learned will actually help when you start taking client phone calls and emails. Analyst are also overworked, and have little patience for more than a quick question. Cases pile up on support techs - not uncommon at all for a technician to have 100 "open" support cases that need to be address, along with the expectation of taking 10-15 new cases a day. Little time to work on open cases = they pile up. Everyone is always stressed.

Pros

Coworkers Hotel points Airline miles Car rental points Per diem

Cons

Everything else. Throw you into clients. Tell you to lie to clients about how long you have been with company. Don't pay fairly. Don't pay out referral bonus'. Don't care about the quality of the work provided to clients, they only care about getting projects live no matter the cost to consultant or client.

Pros

Tyler promotes and grows almost exclusively from within, and job security is about as good as it gets. There is a lot of growth and movement, so it is easy to see potential career niches to grow into. The environment is friendly, and the Yarmouth, Maine office has an excellent on-site cafeteria and gym. For offering a fairly average PTO plan, the work-life balance is pretty good (people leave the office at or around 4:30 p.m., WFH days are not out of the question, etc.). There is also something to be said for working for a company with such a great client retention rate. It makes it easier to come into work everyday when you know clients are happy and the products/services you offer are the industry standard in so many cases.

Cons

Low salaries even for the Maine location with no opportunity for negotiation except during promotions. Less-than-single-paycheck annual bonuses. Virtually nonexistent parental leave. The medical benefits and 401k matching are exceptionally average, which is inherently below average for the tech industry. Because it is well-known that there are other large, secure companies in the area with better compensation, employees are often passively looking around for a better opportunity.
