Toxic Culture

Pros

A steady paycheck and decent wage.

Cons

The culture is toxic. Instead of fostering growth and collaboration, the management team seemed more interested in instilling fear and asserting dominance. Managers, who should have been leaders, were nothing more than bullies wielding their power with impunity. At the hands of these individuals, employees were subjected to constant belittlement, micromanagement, and unfair treatment. Constructive criticism was replaced with harsh reprimands, and any attempts to voice concerns were swiftly shut down. It was a suffocating environment where creativity and innovation were stifled by a culture of fear. To anyone considering employment at Tyler, I urge you to proceed with caution. Unless significant changes are made to address the toxic culture that pervades the organization, it is unlikely to provide anything other than misery and despair for those unlucky enough to find themselves trapped within its grasp. Also, most of the 5.0 reviews on this site are planted by Tyler. Notice they all have the same or similar header "Great Company.." (Red Flag)

Pros

It's nearly impossible to be let go or fired so job stability?

Cons

Morale was absolutely terrible during my tenure at Tyler. Complete disconnect between the C suite/upper management and worker bees that, after five+ years, I had to assume was an intentional part of how the organization functioned all these years. Harmful behavior like taking credit for others' work was routinely rewarded, nepotism was rampant, and promotions were only given to those who mirrored superiors' past projects exactly. I was hired with buzzwords like "innovation" and "creative opportunities," only to be babysitting careless sales folks as they bungled the same stale webinars we had delivered since before I was hired. The lack of accountability from others was, at times, astounding, and I had trouble understanding why my team was routinely having strategy meetings about how to get senior VPs to respond to mission-critical questions. All in all, you can make better money surrounded by happier and more productive people elsewhere, and I suggest you do.
