Its a job. As long as you pass a drug screen you're hired.

Cons

Great if you don't mind getting your pay cut because you miss one day due to illness or family. Full of forien employees on work visas forming their own "unionized" work force in a non union friendly setting. company boasts adding jobs to local community while importing it's workforce from another country. Preaches safety above all else get turns a blind eye to complaints. Not respected for your efforts or work ethic only if you're a warm body that shows up everyday. Lackadaisical management style that gives way to the hostile and unsafe work environment achieved by a multitude of problems.

Good place to learn new skills and stay on top of industry learnings

Cons

Management just isn't to you. I mean they are ruthless and really don't seem to care nor have a heart. They will overwork you while promising to address the poor morale, only never getting past the promising stage. Leaders were positive and friendly in passing but ruthlessly demanding and unforgiving one on one. After leaving I discovered I had been under paid and under benefited. Tyson-Chicago has scarred me and I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a job, a career.

Within Tyson IS there's a great deal of corporate politics. Unfortunately, being good/great at your job holds less weight than being good/great at conducting meetings. Mid-upper management is full of talkers rather than do-ers and therefore value employees according to their own strengths.
