Pros

Typical government benefits, stability, and remote work options (varies by agency)

Cons

EVERYTHING ELSE: -toxic work environment, leadership does NOT care about you -horrible and incompetent management, I literally had a manager who spelled "I" as "eye"...I don't know how you can spell the easiest word in the English language wrong -extreme culture of hierarchy, the system rewards loyalty not merit, so you have a lot of incompetent leadership just because they've been in the government right out of high school. -problems are swept under the rug, we all know who the problem is and no one does anything about it -low pay -petty coworkers who like to gossip and will take your credit to look better in front of the boss -culture of "that's just the way it is" -low morale
