Pros

Benefits are okay, but certain plans carry huge deductions from pay.

Cons

They charge you for parking and other ridiculous things. You get a ludicrously generic job description so you get underpaid for additional work and responsibilities. The director had no idea what was going on with her staff unless she was made aware by the time the damage was done. Definitely favoritism and it showed in the stupidly low bonuses and petty insignificant equity increases. 3% = doing a good job which was 50 cents. Senior human resources management seemed like they were in a competition to divert blame, burn bridges with other human resources department. There were 5 to 6 different departments when I left which is contributing to this problem. Recruitment was a disaster and we have to abide by how they did things no matter how badly it effected us. Any ideas I had for more efficiently processing and communicating were shot down before I could finish a sentence. Lived paycheck to paycheck with two roommates.

Pros

Interesting patients and cases Great colleagues Collegial atmosphere

Cons

The pay is actually pretty bad compared to other institutions/hospitals - your taking about a 20% paycut from say Kaiser and similar institutions. You get paid 50% of your salary on a monthly basis the other 50% is paid out quarterly, which is extremely annoying. Also, when you go on maternity leave, your pay is based on the 50% that is paid monthly (so it doesn't include the 50% that is paid quarterly) - pretty messed up for a progressive institution. Also, there are no annual increases in pay, so a person with 1 year of experience gets paid the same as someone with 5 years of experience. Expectations on handling inbox are tough particularly with weak inbox support compared to other institutions
