Pros

Of course the UCLA name sounds good. Marketing does a great job of making the company sound like its the best place to work. In reality it is not, they just do a great job of marketing the brand i must say.

Cons

Low pay; they will not negotiable upon the job offer. Salary was frozen during a pandemic, and expected us to be in person to work. Lots of work; endless work, high stress, union staff call out all the time, and HR does nothing about it (just talk to them), leadership pressure to meet deadlines. Impossible to advance: almost impossible to advance your career here, you must know people in high places, directors and managers who have no experience or dont know what their doing are in these roles. very sad. Don't like the UCLA brand fool you, this is not the place to work. If you make it to the director level, they do pay you well, but is it really worth your life?

Pros

I've met some really kind people.

Cons

1) Senior leadership did not want people (computer/desk workers) to work from home even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Policies were never directly communicated to employees, so it was up to each department to be forthcoming or each employee to inquire. The fraction of employees that could work from home are being mandated back to office full time before the COVID-19 vaccine is mandated for employees. Mask wearing in offices are non-existent. It's hard to tell if you're even working at a renowned health system because the policies say otherwise. The number of coworkers that have gotten COVID-19 (not from direct patient care) at this institution is alarming. Previously the system's disdain for WFH was outdated, but now it's reckless. 2) They say they care about diversity and inclusion, but the faces of who is in senior leadership say otherwise. There are plenty of POC in "professional" roles, but they are underrepresented in leadership. I do not approve of the CEO. Accidentally selected this and Glassdoor will not let me edit this part of the review.
