Pros

In my experience, management cares about you and works with you in career advancement opportunities. Teamwork oriented with many friendly faces! Great benefits

Cons

Of course, as with any institution, there are some managers that create stressful and unhealthy work environments for their employees. Parking almost impossible to get and very expensive.

Pros

+ Though the company is very large, the people are so nice and supportive of one another + The people who work there are there because they care about the patients they serve; the hospital's mission permeates through it's staff + Management/leadership is very open to networking with fellow staff outside of their division. + If you are ambitious, there is always another project for you to join, if you network properly. + Easy to move to new positions once you are hired into the organization. + Fabulous benefits!

Cons

+ As a non-profit health system resources are strapped, so great ideas and initiatives can be slow to develop. + Everyone is so busy that mentorship for ambitious, younger professionals is sparse. There are certainly people who will help you, but you have to find them and be persistent.

Pros

Good retirement benefits - but only if you started working before July 2013

Cons

Nepotism; favoritism; job requirements for promotions are changed to suit management’s chosen candidates who are guaranteed the job, whether or not they truly have the ability to do it
