      Pros

      Competitive salary. Good retirement. Decent health benefits but they are cheaper over at Duke Hospital.

      Cons

      Terrible management, on every unit. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. Hospital politics more important that patient care. Horrible parking situation for hospital employees. Parking garage is owned by the university and they have no respect for hospital employees. Will ticket and tow your car in the blink of an eye.

      Good Benefits. Many excellent lower level employees,

      Cons

      Unfriendly managers and directors who are not interested in honest professional opinions. They are much more interested in getting "yes" answers and asking managers to do busy work that makes the institution appear to be something it is not. No place for advancement unless you belong to the "club." Once they lure you in, there is no room for growth or even to utilize your professional skills. But the pay is good, so it is difficult for me to leave until something as good turns up.

      There are a lot of hard-working employees

      Cons

      -Pay was low, relative to position -Failure to disclose that to potential hired that he/she won't be able to park on site and have to park and ride which increases commute time tremendously; -Pretty political and encouraged entitlements -CFO does not value accounting / finance staff's contributions and think he can underpay b/c they come "a dime in a dozen"
