      Pros

      Some flexibility in Field Work and most positions are temporary and part time.

      Cons

      Oak Brook office is stifling and oppressive you could walk in the door and feel the tension. Could be a really great place (I met some high quality long term employees there and the job was interesting) if the Sr. management didn't treat lower levels as peons that are beneath consideration. Complete lack of human respect.

      The telework policy is great!

      Cons

      Hostile working environment that is not friendly to people new to the Bureau. It’s culture is extremely adverse to change. Working there was the worst experience in my 26 years of federal service.

      Pros

      Some of the people are nice. Also, it has a good work/life balance as far as the ability to telework, the maxiflex schedule and also the compressed work schedule. Benefits are good.

      Cons

      Outside of that, there's not much more that is positive. The people are sometimes nice but you can't blame them because everyone is dealing with their own issues. Management walks around every now and then. Don't expect a smile though because you won't get one. The office I work has very low morale and a very high turnover rate. There are no growth opportunities because just about ALL the jobs are pre-selected. Don't let the fact that you see it on USAJOBS fool you. You make the cert, come in for an interview and realize the person who got the job has no where near your qualifications or on the job experience.
