Pros

I will start with the pro's because this list is much shorter: USAA benefits are amazing. 8% 401k match, medical, dental, rec centers on site, childcare facilities. These will be the point you think when you first start and ask how anyone could ever leave then the reality sets in.

Cons

Everything in your day will revolve around sales. The top performers are not one's who know how to do their job, but those will know how to sell sell sell. You have zero support from coworkers because everyone is worried about their numbers. Rarely if a member has an issue will the rep actually follow up because everyone is scared of having their stats impacted. USAA says they are all about the member but service has gone downhill with the focus on selling the members another product to secure their financial need. Every minute of your day is tracked. When you go to the bathroom, when you go to break, when you clock in, how long you were working on an account after the member hung up, are you quoting new products, are you closing the sale on new products, are your surveys rated as a 9 or 10, how long are you on the phone with the member, are you building a relationship. You get the idea. Some people can survive in this culture, but I would say about 50% of people leave after their first year.

Pros

The organization really takes care of it's employees and really strives to make the campus a place where not only can you work but you can relax. Benefits are great! Bonuses are nice.

Cons

Hard to move up. They hire externally a lot more than internally, so if you are hired its harder to move up within the company.
