Pros

I worked at USAA for 3.5 years. The benefits were great, and the company seemed like a good company to work for. I made a lot of really good friends during my time there and even met my husband...

Cons

When I was a phone representative, I felt like I was working like crazy. There were always calls in queue and we were limited to our breaks and lunches. If we were not available to accept calls (restroom, following up with a customer, typing feedback), we were constantly reprimanded by our management. Very micromanaged.

Pros

USAA cares about the needs of the employees foremost. The balancing of work and life is crucial for the company because it knows without treating their people right their customer service satisfaction would decline. The company represents LOYALTY, INTEGRITY, and is passionate in servicing the members. In addition, USAA provides excellent training to all employees year round. Beginning from the CEO to the floor managers treat employees with respect. Employees in general are expected to provide excellent customer satisfaction, thus when a member calls our attention is undivided and complete towards their needs without the worry of taking too long on the phone call. The benefits are excellent and health fitness center helps balance your stress, not limited to yoga, golf, tennis, flag football etc. The amount of time given for time off is awesome, and you also have an opportunity to purchase an additional 40 hours which will be deducted weekly from your paycheck. USAA will also allow you to earn healthy points by excercising and healthy eating, thus reducing the cost of your health insurance premium. The quality of technology such as their software, hardware, office supplies, space, etc is magnificicent considering it is a call center environment. The break rooms are luxurious, they have several microwaves, HD - plasma televisions, and chic furniture. The cafeteria is more like a restaruant with all kinds of foods, and different options for purchasing that can be charged to your employee badge and deducted from the paycheck. The career advancement and promotions are always available for any employee, and let's not forget the $10k tuition paid to a qualified institution with a company credit cared provided individually to the employee. I am very pleased and utterly happy to be part of this company. Did I mention you get treated with a lot of respect?

Cons

The parking gets full by 10 am.

Pros

USAA really is a great place to work. Work life balance is a focus area. You can't beat the benefits.

Cons

With any big company there will be challenges. Sometimes it is difficult to get things done, but that goes with the territory.
