Pros

Easy work, you can coast

Cons

Accepted a verbal phone offer. Lied to me about the bonus and only paid me 18% of it. When confronting them, they tried to intimidate me. +10k loss Had to hire an attorney to get employment papers. They offered me to buy a work phone. And they told me it was unlocked, and it was completely mine. The phone got blocked when I leaved the company. They refer to the company as a Family. Promotions don't take 2 years, it takes around 3 years. Straight up use brainwash on employees. Literally brainwash techniques on employees.

Pros

Comfortable and blameless work culture, great benefits including an 8% match on a 4% investment for your 401k, 90% health coverage after meeting a deductible of $1400, almost 2 months a year of PTO, gym membership reimbursement, up to 10k per year to further your education, and amazing work life balance.

Cons

As far as the engineering side goes at USAA, innovation is slow. Technology is far behind the majority of other software companies. Compliance related administrative tasks and meetings often bleed in to a developers workflow taking time away from the development process. USAA leverages benefits (often geared towards older engineers) and promises of bonuses to compensate for giving their engineers a lower salary. Climbing the corporate ladder can be a slow process.
