Pros

You get to learn a lot offers good benefits for some that's single or two people working it pays good. They offer part time if you need it

Cons

They change the compensation package it's all based on percentage to the point that commission structure it's a joke. Not only that but they put the quota so high that is unrealistic for the traffic that us cell has. They made you do multiple positions at once, inventory coordinator, cashier, greater, tech, telemarketer (out of all this was the worst one to do as i am not a telemarketer) among other things and don't forget to meet your quota! I was one of the top sales people and after the pay change I was making $2000 less on every commission check selling the same amount I did in the past what a scam.so much for their advertisement of unlimited income potential

Pros

US Cellular has many positions available. In the past they have had a strong associate culture and there is plenty of opportunity to move upward.

Cons

US Cellular was a great company to work for when people were signing up for cell phones for the first time. However, now that the telecom market is saturated and the most common way of obtaining new customers is by winning them over from other carriers, their excellent associate culture has gone down hill quickly and has created a somewhat hostile work environment of mistrust and over cautiousness. The over-cautiousness comes in the form of the CIO, COO, as well as all the IT directors reviewing and scrutinizing every change to production. If they don't receive answers that are acceptable the conversations can turn violent quickly - even for standard changes. There has also been a severe amount of people leaving the country due to these circumstances, and the feeling of job instability both for associates and leaders

Pros

The people you work with are hard workers, friendly, and team players. No dress code The company strives in being the world's best customer service in the telecommunication industry. Pretty good benefits Offers at least a day for you to be able to work from home depending on your department/role within the company Discounted cellular carrier or even unlimited that you only pay taxes/insurance (only outside Chicago land area markets)

Cons

Lately, too many aggressive changes all at once due to keep up with a competitive environment with other wireless companies. Too many leaders not enough employees to do the work. Work life balance...still trying to get better on this
