Pros

U.S. Cellular is a fun and challenging company to work for. Giving you the opportunity go excel and move up in the company. Monthly and annual bonus are a gift from the company to show profit and customer satisfaction.

Cons

Any challenges are the ones you create for yourself. U.S. Cellular gives you the opportunity to achieve these challenges by offering online training courses, coaching and job shadowing with other departments to better understand every ones job functions.

Pros

Health insurance benefits kick in almost immediately, vacation and sick time kick in as soon as 90days are up, coworkers will usually be super friendly.

Cons

Training was terrible. My trainer had it out for me and went as far as to report me to HR for things I didn't do. HR actually had to tell her to leave me alone because it was obvious that she was just trying to get my fired. The HR department at US Celluar tends to be Draconian in nature for no real reason.... A lot of people I worked with got fired for the silliest reasons I've ever heard and it was extremely terrible for morale. I actually got dinged a couple times for infractions but one was forgiven because the rule that I "broke" was changed about a month later.

Pros

Great benefits, work-life balance (dependent on supervisor), significantly above-average pay for the industry.

Cons

Recent billing changes have left the company hemorrhaging money and customers, and eliminating positions. At the time of this review (May 2014), almost 30% of retail staff has been quietly eliminated through position elimination (techs, greeters, inventory coordinators). Also, at this time, one third of the store manager positions in the state of Iowa are vacant, as the highest paid leaders have been eliminated for fabricated reasons, immediately prior to the pay scale being lowered. U.S. Cellular is trying to hide the fact that they're stalling off bankruptcy, but the bottom is going to burst at any moment.
