Within the past year, the trend seems to slowly take away from employees actually being able to be progressive, proactive and just get work done, management wants to literally know every single thing that is happening. You have to wait months just to get simple changes done and you have to wait for one individual to bless you to work. Micromanaging every single decision has become the norm, and a lot of individuals aren't technically competent enough to be making these decisions.
Teams don't communicate. Teams refuse to work together. Teams roadblock each other as much as possible. Ego reigns and end user/physicians/patients suffer.
Also, as much as they say they want to facilitate learning, this is only for selected people that have favor in the eyes of whatever director likes them. There are no pathways for promotion, no pathways for education to help your career goals and no discussions about where they are in the process. It's been a year since we heard they might be creating new jobs/titles for individuals who want to either be technical or managerial and it was six months ago they were supposed to let us know what those were.
Also, loyalty matters little. You could be a stellar employee for years but they will totally hire outside of UW Health for a position you are totally qualified for.
