Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience at Uncommon Goods! So glad to hear that one of our Guiding Principles, We Are Independent (both as a company and in our encouragement of individual expression) was felt throughout your time with us. Within that importance of individual expression often comes a slower decision-making process. It's very important to us in any conversation--be it hiring, new business initiatives, or aligning on next steps in our existing practices--that we have considered the voices and needs of each key contributor. This helps us thoughtfully Build for the Long Term, another of our Guiding Principles! Talent Acquisition Partner Uncommon Goods

Pros

Good people and good pay. CEO talks to all employees and seems to actually care. Employee discount and opportunities to make more money pulling longer hours in the busy season.

Cons

Very disorganized. Unequal distribution of work. Associate turn around is wayyy too high. Supposedly a B Corp trying to give opportunities to the underserved without any actual training in how to keep those opportunities. Aka you do one thing wrong or upset the wrong supervisor and you’re fired. Not enough help where it’s needed most in shipping & supplies because it’s harder work. Lack of training leads to dangerous situations.

Thank you for your feedback and for your contributions to our 2021 holiday season. We hope that our training process prepared you to feel successful in your role. While we cannot retain all of our seasonal team members at the end of our holiday season, we do our best to connect our seasonal team with new employment opportunities, skill-based training programs provided by our community partners, and even internal internships to continue their learning at Uncommon Goods! We appreciate your feedback regarding communication between our departments and will seek to improve this critical skill through leadership and communication workshops for our team in preparation for the next holiday season. Thank you again and best of luck in your next career step. Talent Acquisition Partner Uncommon Goods
