Pros

Free Snacks....other than that there really is any

Cons

Bad Management team, They let go of a lot of top performers, told them it was due to consolidation and yet hiring new account executives today. Product is also getting worse, the software platform has many bugs.

Pros

none that I can think of at the moment

Cons

inside sales at its worst, the positive reviews are fake, you can find a better job elsewhere. The VC firm that bought pulled the plug and fired half the sales floor.

I truly question whether this is a former employee. Unitrends has above all else been consistent in hiring educated and articulate people. Neither of which quality is represented in this post

Pros

Solid product and support that is a great fit for SMBs who have a small IT staff looking for a simple and reliable solution. Lot of good sales reps, middle managers, great engineers. Generally really good people to work with who work hard and have fun.

Cons

The technology is good, not amazing. There are some very basic and critical feature sets that most backup companies have that Unitrends does not. The negative reviews on here are not just because people can't adjust to change or the recent layoffs. The company has undergone a ton of change in only a few years, which every employee has become used to. The problem is the recent changes haven't been well thought out and it was apparent to most people that the decisions were poor. Most notably, firing or pushing out the most senior and successful managers and directors, and replacing them with directors who did nothing more than take forecasts and couldn't help reps close deals or answer basic questions on the product. The company was more collaborative and successful when upper management could help strategize and assist their reps in hitting their goals. Only sales advice from upper management now is to make more calls, even when each rep is above 3 hours and 60 dials daily. Laughable that HR responds to these asking people to share their feedback in person. The company made it clear they wanted to get rid of all bad apples and any dissension could mean your time is up there. Culture isn't what it used to be. There was a constant feeling in the air that something was going to happen, a layoff, a new acquisition.... Despite preaching about transparency, they are less transparent than they ever had been. The office is a complete rumor mill as well.

Thank you very much for sharing your opinions. I want to comment on a few of the items that you brought up in your review. I am sorry that you aren't convinced that our technology is amazing. I am certainly glad that an independent organization - DCIG - rated the Unitrends appliances well ahead of our competitors and even gave our 943S a rating of Best-in-Class. Can we be better - sure. But we have a very talented engineering team that is constantly striving to make our technology platform better every day. My confidence level is high that they will continue to turn out best-of-breed solutions for appliances, software and Cloud. I think that you are selling our sales management / executive teams short when you say that all that they do is push people to make more calls. We strive to help people become better every day. The company hasn't averaged 60 dials and 3 hours of talk time any day since i joined the company, so I don't know what you are referring to in your post. I will take ownership for the company hiring far ahead of its needs. That isn't an account executive problem that was a senior leadership mistake. Sadly, when it was corrected some very good people lost their job. Today, we have a sales organization that has a great deal of opportunity and a chance to earn more than we have ever paid out before. It is a good time to be a Unitrends sales person. I would welcome the chance to speak with you in more detail if you would like. Please give me a call ... thank you ... Kevin
