Pros

Product runs a Linux/Red Hat OS - you won't get exposure to this OS at many other places You can work as much overtime as you want. There are a few decent people still working at this company. (Columbia location)

Cons

TLDR : A joke of a company, do not get a job here unless you are very very desperate. UNDERSTAFFED - is an understatement, the company is unable to hire anyone due to the awful reputation (which is deserved) this company has. Issues with the product - The product was decent until, the high ups (Kevin) and others decides to push for a major software release every quarter. Once this happened, there were so many issues with the product that I would never put it into a production environment to backup data. There is also a severe hardware problem with their backup appliances that cause drives to die which will lead to data loss. Under-qualified employees - the salary is quite low compared to comparable positions elsewhere, due to this, Unitrends hires Under-qualified people to fill positions. Management - The entire management team is completely oblivious to any "numbers or stats" that are not tracked by their system. Their idea of performance is like a Mcdonalds - Quantity served over quality any day of the week. Their goal is to have as many customers as possible and have the lowest number of employees possible to support them. SALES - The account managers at Unitrends will say anything at all to make a sale. They would tell a customer that the backup appliances could wash your car to make a sale. There is no 401k Match. The list goes on and on.

Pros

The Technology is solid but implementations have been falling short recently.

Cons

management, management, management. Insight came in and fired everyone that helped drive the companies growth, brought in new people based on personal relationships and effectively halted sales. They created an environment of distrust, dissatisfaction and fear of being considered "not pro-company". Slow sales and bad management have lead to over 100 people being fired this year.

Thank you for sharing your views. I want to be clear - we did not fire 100 people. I have seen this in several posts and it is absolutely false. Insight approved managements decision to hire everyone that we did in the beginning of the year. They supported the executive team in its decision. It is unfortunate that we hired too many people too quickly. I am very sorry about this and i have stated it internally. Now i am stating it publicly. I wish you well. Kevin
