Pros

Company is fair and consistent. Good salaries. Great opportunity for advancement. Able to be creative. Talents are recognized by upper management.

Cons

Doesn’t really understand community based behavioral healthcare. Leadership not invested in community and not focused on fiscal responsibility. Poor resources for getting work done considering it’s a for profit.

Pros

This company has good benefits and decent pay, they hire competent workers and seem to encourage staff members to give input in certain areas.

Cons

Administration constantly looking to make cuts, and it is always focused on staff, and cutting staff positions. Too many redundant upper management positions. Also the people making decisions affecting the floor staff typically have never worked or worked very little on the floor and are out of touch.

Don't care about employees

Pros

The work you do can be very rewarding, as most of their facilities are behavioral/mental health. My job was in the field of juvenile justice, and I absolutely loved it! My coworkers were amazing, and the work left me feeling like I was making a difference.

Cons

The higher up the chain of command you go, the worse it gets. UHS doesn't care about their employees, or even the children (or other clients) they serve. They only care about money, and whatever it takes to make the most of it is what they will do. They don't care if that means treating their employees like they don't matter, or putting a price tag on a child's life. Overworked and underpaid should be this company's slogan!
