Pros

Friendly staff Most upper management cares about staff. Nursing supervisors are almost always willing to help. Many long term RN staff in critical care areas.

Cons

Patient staff ratios not always ideal. Develop resource pool of nurses to float to areas of need. Management worry about "scores" more than whats best for safe patient care. Never see Director of Nursing rounding on floors. Lack of education opportunities or required education other than computer generated annual competencies.

The employees are sweet other than that nothing good

Cons

There is no therapy treatment. The kids leave worse than when they came. It's about money/insurance, not the productivity of the clients . The kids are allowed to attack each other and staff with no reprocussions.

Co-workers, good health insurance, time and a half on holidays, extra shifts always available, ample PTO accrual once you have worked there for a while.

Cons

Lots of changes, difficult to have a proportionate work-life balance, need to request off 6 weeks in advance. Stressful environment at times.
