Pros

Good ompensation, great people, fun work. Everyone has an upbeat attitude, but they are probably after your job.

Cons

Politics, job stability, poor strategy. Everyone is trying to game everyone in the music industry. This place is good, but no exception.

Pros

Probably the best reason to work for the Universal Music Group would be the heralth benefits of such a large corporation.

Cons

There are too many negatives to list but I can start with Poor Upper Management (i.e. lack of qualified leadership and direction), the lack of HR presence alone is detrimental to the health of the work environment. UMG has gone from being a leader in the music industry to being a slow, monolithic, outdated, inexperienced, financially strapped, poorly managed dinosaur that will eventually have to break down in size in order to keep up with the technological advances and entreprenurial ideologies that will help this industry survive in changing times.

Pros

You can really learn how the music business operates, which is different then most other entertainment industries. I liked that we were given up to date info about the most current releases and a chance to get free product ever quarter. We were also given an employee discount every quarter to purchase music in their catalogue.

Cons

Too many cheifs and not enough indians there. Management tend to be really cocky and almost degrading to it employees. They expect you to know everything right away, and if you don't ,they make it quite known to you and your coworkers that you are stupid and should know of this by now.
