Pros

Great work environment to be in overall. Workplace is Fun & energetic. coworkers are a great and strive to achieve the goals. Great benefits package available and the management is understanding of employee's needs for time off. Career opportunity exists if not within division then in company as a whole General appreciation of music

Cons

If there are a downside then it would be that the company as a whole is big so there are alot of divisions, policies, and regulations. The policy and regulation tend to be very strict and tight regarding digital rights and media transfers.

Pros

The medical and dental benefits are great. The 401k company match is very generous.

Cons

No room for advancement. A great deal of politics and GAMES. Things are more about being corporate and less about being intuitive. There really IS NOT an open door policy. You are told that you can go into an executive's office and speak freely and openly and then shortly after you are chastised and ostracized for it. The staff is rarely ever informed about upcoming changes within the company or with the staff. They are NEVER forthright with you. Candor simply does not exist at this company. Sadly, regardless of how great your performance is or how much time you have invested with the company, it means absolutely nothing. The high achievers in the end are treated as poorly as the underachievers and your loyalty to the company is irrelevant. It was once a great place to work and has now become an oppressive environment that is no longer about selling great music. Now, it's a charade of corporate politics and childish games. The salaries that are offered for this company overall are miserly. If you worked in another industry, doing the EXACT same work, you would certainly be paid a great deal more than what Universal is willing to pay.

Pros

Great people, good benifits. a lott of cool music and interesting challenges.

Cons

Too political sometimes. Often, you would end up working for someone's cousin who has no idea what they are doing. While every job has issues with inernal politics. Sometimes the inernal politics disrupt the real job you are trying to do. A lot of energy and time are wasted catering to the wishes of exceutive who just want to take care of thier friends. Thewre is a great work ehtic for everyone that keeps the ship running, but i feel there is not a lot of people that are happy with their pay rate.
