Resources are only put to paid product with makes product development slow and painful and there are never enough developers to make our solutions good enough. a Large investment needs to be taken to improve and it will help sell the solutions rather than people trying to sell the promise of what a solution will be in 2 years when it will already be outdated again. Too much work and knowledge is held on by too few people, better training of junior colleagues is needed to get them to be more independent and able to take on more. It is very difficult to progress into a Manager role as there are already too many managers with nobody to manage.

A mountain of work needs to be done monthly and it was mostly boring work, so I was stuck doing the same thing over and over until I asked for different work, but that meant someone else on the team had to do it (usually the new hires). They are slow to implement new technologies. Our team's data visualizations were all in Excel or PDFs. The only technical transferable skills I learned were SQL and Excel. Their propriety software is very unintuitive and outdated (looks and feels like it's from the 90s). Felt like I was a bit micromanaged by my managers. Turnover seems to be high - I saw a lot of smart and talented coworkers jump ship in the very short time I worked there. The pay bump with promotions is not worth the added responsibilities.
